Information for parents, guardians and payers
Who can pay?
A pupil aged 16 or 17 must ask a parent or guardian to pay. A pupil aged 18 or over may pay themselves or nominate another payer. A private invitation can be paid without first creating a ChemistryUK parent account.
What payment provides
Stripe-confirmed payment activates one pupil’s individual OCR A Chemistry A H432 membership. It provides saved progress and access to the ChemistryUK member tools while the membership is active. It does not buy an official qualification, guaranteed grade or teacher replacement.
Payment and privacy
Stripe handles card details and compatible payment methods. ChemistryUK receives identifiers and status information needed to match the subscription to the pupil, but does not receive or store the full card number.
Paying is separate from progress access. Payment does not automatically let a payer see detailed answers, diagrams, feedback or progress. The pupil controls optional summary-progress sharing, subject to the account and safeguarding rules described in the Privacy Notice.
Renewal and cancellation
The GBP 7.99 subscription is charged in advance and renews monthly until cancelled. The payer can use the secure Stripe Customer Portal to view invoices, update the payment method and cancel. Cancellation is scheduled for the end of the current paid period, and pupil access normally continues until then.
Refunds and payment problems
Cancelling does not automatically refund the current paid period because access continues until that period ends. This does not affect statutory cancellation, refund or consumer rights. Contact us promptly if a payment is incorrect or duplicated, or if the paid service was not supplied. We will review the circumstances and the rights that apply.
Support and account choices
A payer can use the management link sent after payment or request a fresh secure Portal link. Creating a parent account is optional for an invitation payment. Any optional progress access can be withdrawn separately without cancelling billing.
